Wrap-up
Having one's work exposed in public scrutiny could be exhilarating all the while nerve-wrecking as the judges commend the idea and then pin-point what are lacking, improvements needed, and tips for a better presentation. The undergone preparation for the demo day was done with full enthusiasm especially in the video production as I, myself, took part in it. All factors--views of the audience, perfect perspective and point of view, transitioning, and the promotion of the product in just 40 seconds not mentioning that supposedly we had a lot of problems to highlight in the video--all of these are considered. One can be boastful to say that our product was one of the best start-up but I could attest to that as Unicike really is a brilliant idea in these vast roads of CMU. Pitching our product might have stirred and piqued the interest of many possible consumers. And that was the best platform to make our product known to the market. Aside from that, an opportunity to witness others thrive in hand-in-hand facing what seems like the trials of Apollo with many criticizing eyes, it made me feel more human. That I am not the only one struggling nor going through a lot of backlogs and sleepless night, that it is okay to not make it to the top at all if that means the eradication of my mental health.
As an aspiring entrepreneur, this particular experience is a profound premonition of what to happen in the future as we face an actual pitching having everything--money, effort, health, ideas, risks--at stake. Because then, we would be more than ready to welcome failure and embrace uncertainty, with only passion and perseverance to have in our pockets.
To end this blog, GEE 16 have taught me that anyone, including myself, could be an entrepreneur if I strive to materialize the ideas I generate into a feasible and viable product that is sustainable enough to benefit the market as well as the economy of the community. As I was immersed in various exposure and challenges by this subject, I got to view the world in a wider perspective. The Silicon Valley of which I was most fascinated about. I used to think business is simply about buying and selling but the actual process of making profit puts everything in line at risk. Indeed, there is still a myriad of course take-aways that I cannot put into words but those are kept dearly in my heart and will manifest in the most destined time. As I face the real world, I could say that GEE 16 has prepared and hatched me well.
